Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has directed the Virginia State Police to open a criminal investigation into allegations of school-funded abortions in Fairfax County. The investigation comes after a report published detailed allegations of school staff members allegedly facilitating minors to get abortions without parental consent.
This story will be under investigation for some time. While we await the results of the State Police investigation, the following facts are true: In January 2025, the Virginia General Assembly passed the first of 3 steps toward an Abortion Amendment. The second step will be voted on this January or February and if it passes, it will go to vote in the November state-wide election of 2026.
The Abortion Amendment will remove the rights of parents not only to consent to an abortion for a daughter, but to even be notified! This will result in situations such as allegedly occurred at Centreville High School, becoming commonplace. The schools which currently cannot even give a child a Tylenol without parental permission, will be permitted to subject children to this risky medical procedure, a procedure which is also morally offensive to many parents.
Please consider this issue when voting this fall in Virginia. All Democrat legislators favor this amendment.
This is NOT just a Virginia issue. Similar amendments are headed to state legislators in many states. Pastors, be informed about prolife laws in your county and state. Educate your congregation about them. Turn out the vote for those who uphold Christian values.
